Mobile and Internet connection

You can get a SIM card in the offices of three mobile carriers: China Mobile, China Unicom or  China Telecom by providing your ID (passport). There are different packages available with 4G  or even 5G Internet standard. It is common to find plenty of free WiFi in China throughout airports, restaurants, coffee  shops, and malls. A wireless internet connection is also something you can expect in a Chinese  hotel or even in a youth hostel. Usually you need to use your phone number to get access to it.

Socket system used in China

China get a socket system differing from the one in most western countries. There are two  main sockets proverbially used in China, namely type A and type I, which can also accept plugs  of type C or F that are widely used in most European countries. A standard socket on a wall  in China has two flat pins on the upper part and earthed three flat pins on the lower part. The  standard voltage of the electricity is 220 V, and the standard frequency is 50 Hz.
