Hai’an New Port to Operate 6 Daily Special Flights for New Energy Vehicles During May Day

 

According to Xuwen Port, during the May Day holiday, Hai’an New Port will arrange 6 daily special flights for new energy vehicles to meet island-bound transportation demand.

During the holiday, 49 vessels (47 passenger ro-ro ships and 2 deck cargo ships) will operate on routes from Xuwen Port to Xinhaigang and Hai’an New Port to Xiuying Port, using a "scheduled + emergency transport" model. The 6 special flights for new energy vehicles will depart at 09:50, 11:50, 14:50, 17:50, 19:50, and 23:50 daily.

On May 1, Hai’an New Port will operate at least 10 special flights. Vehicles must book tickets in advance via the "Xuwen Port" WeChat Official Account, Xuwen Port ticketing platform, "Qiongzhou Strait Ferry" WeChat Official Account, or third-party platforms. Unbooked vehicles will not be allowed entry.

In terms of booking tickets for small cars, fuel cars can purchase tickets for ordinary roll-on/roll-off ship flights, choose Xuwen Port or Hai'an Xingang operation area according to individual needs, and enter the port and take the ship according to the purchase of the corresponding port tickets; new energy cars can only purchase tickets for new energy special classes on the island, and take the ship from the Hai'an Xingang operation area to enter the island. For self-drive tours by small car, all the accompanying persons in the car must buy tickets together with the car, and the driver also needs to buy tickets.

Tickets for travel between April 22 and May 6 are now available. Peak travel periods across the Qiongzhou Strait are expected on April 30, May 1, 4, and 5.

The port advises travelers to plan their Hainan itineraries in advance, book round-trip ship tickets early, and avoid peak hours for a smoother journey.

As the holiday approaches, Hainan Strait Shipping Co., Ltd. (Strait Shipping) has released route guidelines for Xinhaigang to assist individual travelers, private cars, buses, and trucks.

Strait Shipping reminds drivers and passengers to check LED screens in designated areas for boarding gate details and flight updates to ensure smooth boarding.

 

Passenger Boarding Routes

Taxi/bus passengers: Take the escalator from GTC Transit Center to the 2nd-floor departure hall of the passenger hub. Complete security checks, enter the commercial and waiting zones, and board via the bridge from the 2nd-floor corridor.

Present your ID for boarding—no paper tickets required.

 

Bus Boarding Routes

Bus passengers: Undergo ID verification on the 2nd floor of the passenger hub before entering commercial and waiting areas.

Wait in the lounge and board via the bridge after ticket checks.

Bus drivers: Enter the inspection area, complete ID and ticket checks, then proceed to the designated boarding zone.

 

Private Car Boarding Routes

1. Turn right at the intersection of Binhai Avenue and Fubo Road to enter the port.

2. Enter via the connection between Ring Island Expressway, Haixiu Expressway, and G15 Highway.

Passengers separate from the vehicle on the 1st floor of the passenger hub and take dedicated escalators to the 2nd-floor departure lounge. Drivers proceed to inspection and then board from designated waiting zones.

 

Truck Boarding Routes

1. Exit via the ramp connecting G15 Highway, G98 Ring Expressway, and Haixiu Expressway to enter Xinhaigang’s truck inspection zone.

2. Turn from Binhai Avenue onto Xinhai Avenue to reach the security checkpoint.

Once the security check is completed, you can enter the waiting area to purchase and check your ticket, and then proceed to the corresponding boarding gate to board the ferry.
