From October 8th to 11th, Sanya's international air network saw a significant expansion. Three new international routes were launched: Sanya-Minsk, Ulaanbaatar-Sanya-Ulan-Ude, and Sanya-Kuala Lumpur, further enhancing the Hainan Free Trade Port's capacity for opening up to the outside world.

Among them, the "Sanya-Minsk" route is operated by Belavia, with round-trip flights every Wednesday, marking the first direct flight between Sanya and Belarus, with an inaugural flight load factor of 98%; the "Ulaanbaatar-Sanya-Ulan-Ude" route is operated by Mongolian Hunnu Airways, and is Sanya's third fifth-freedom passenger route after "Phnom Penh-Sanya-Singapore" and "Frankfurt-Bangkok-Sanya", which will help realize the mutual flow of passengers and logistics between China, Mongolia and Russia; the "Sanya-Kuala Lumpur" route is operated by Malaysian Batik Airlines, with round-trip flights every Wednesday and Saturday, which will provide Southeast Asian tourists with a more convenient option to travel to Hainan and further strengthen Hainan's hub function as an aviation gateway to ASEAN.

The successful launch of these three routes is the result of collaborative efforts from multiple parties. The Hainan Provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports conducted numerous tourism marketing and promotion activities in Southeast Asia, Russia, and Belarus, laying the foundation for the development of Sanya's international routes. Sanya City continuously promoted cooperation with key source markets, and multiple rounds of negotiations and site visits effectively facilitated the implementation of these international routes.

A tourist from Minsk stated that Sanya's warm coastal climate and high-quality tourism facilities provide an ideal choice for European tourists' winter vacations. Representatives from Malaysian travel agencies also expressed their anticipation of cooperating with Hainan's tourism-related enterprises to jointly develop premium routes tailored to the needs of Southeast Asian tourists.

To date, Sanya has opened a total of 38 international routes, connecting 29 international destinations, covering key regions such as Central Asia, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, and Europe, further enhancing Sanya's international accessibility and positively driving regional economic development.

Next, Sanya City will leverage the opening of the new air route to collaborate with other cities and counties in the Sanya economic circle to launch integrated tourism routes combining ecology, culture, health and wellness, and island vacations, continuously attracting overseas tourists. In the future, relying on the policy advantages of the Hainan Free Trade Port, it will accelerate the development of fifth and seventh freedom routes, improve its international route network, promote the coordinated development of "routes + products + services," and enhance Sanya's competitiveness in the international tourism market.
