June 8 marks World Oceans Day and National Ocean Awareness Day, with the 2025 theme "Protect Marine Ecosystems, Harmonious Coexistence Between Humanity and Nature." On June 7, the "2025 World Oceans Day Campaign," co-hosted by global diving certification agency PADI and Dadonghai Water Sports Park, took place at Sanya’s Dadonghai Bay. Actor Huang Bo and 50 professional divers plunged into the bay for a coral transplantation initiative, responding to the UN’s call while promoting the philosophy of "human-nature harmony."

As an "Ocean Guardian," Huang Bo donned diving gear and led volunteers into the crystalline waters. Guided by Professor Wang Peizheng’s team from Hainan Tropical Ocean University, they meticulously followed a four-step process—clearing, positioning, securing, and inspecting—to anchor lab-cultivated coral fragments onto conservation racks. These "patches of blue hope" embodied Sanya’s "eco-centric development" vision, sowing seeds to restore fragile marine ecosystems.
"I love Sanya—I’ve dived at every spot here," Huang Bo shared. His affinity stems from childhood connections to the ocean: "When I first came to Hainan, the sea sparked endless inspiration. Witnessing vibrant corals and marine life reaffirms our conservation efforts. The ocean connects our world; I hope everyone embraces it with passion, cherishes our planet, and cares for one another."

"Ocean conservation is our core mission," stated Feng Chao, General Manager of Dadonghai Water Sports Park. Leveraging PADI’s 5-star dive center expertise, the park organizes coral transplantation and beach clean-ups, while encouraging eco-friendly sunscreen use and trash collection—immersing visitors in marine protection during their diving experiences.
A Sanya tourism official emphasized that pristine marine ecosystems underpin diving industry growth. The upcoming "Sanya Safe Diving" initiative will enhance ecological protection and service quality through:
Dynamic instructor management under the "one tourist, one code" system;
Full-process video monitoring;
Improved service evaluation mechanisms;
These measures aim to standardize operations, minimize ecological impact, and ensure visitors safely explore the ocean while safeguarding this blue homeland.
