New Routes Launched: "Sanya ⇌ Hanoi" and "Sanya ⇌ Ho Chi Minh City"

2025-06-20

From June 15 to 16, two direct international routes between Sanya and Vietnam commenced operations:

Sanya ⇌ Ho Chi Minh City (QH851/0): Flies every Wednesday and Sunday.

Sanya ⇌ Hanoi (QH835/4): Operates every Monday and Friday.

2025 marks the "China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchange" and a pivotal moment for building a shared future between the two nations. These routes strengthen bilateral ties through aviation, signaling a solid step in Hainan Free Trade Port’s high-level opening-up strategy.

Sanya-Hanoi and Sanya-Ho Chi Minh City routes launched

Operated by Vietnam’s Bamboo Airways using Airbus A321 aircraft (8 business-class seats), these flights cater to both budget-conscious tourists and efficiency-seeking business travelers. Inaugural flights from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Sanya achieved over 95% load factors, reflecting strong Vietnamese demand. Stable frequencies will further support tourism, cross-border education, and business exchanges.

Sanya’s ongoing "Welcome to Sanya" initiatives invite Southeast Asian travel agencies, media, and enterprises to explore its market and policy advantages. Enhanced connectivity will amplify these efforts, attracting regional resources and energizing Sanya’s "Southeast Asian network."

As a key gateway of Hainan Free Trade Port, Sanya is building an international aviation hub. By June 16, 2025, it has launched 31 international routes covering 25 global destinations, forming an "Asia-Europe-connected, globally-reaching" flight network.

Beyond Vietnam, Sanya will consolidate Central Asian markets (e.g., increasing frequencies on the "Sanya ⇌ Astana" route) and steadily expand to Europe and America, exploring fifth-freedom routes like "Sanya ⇌ Bangkok ⇌ Frankfurt." This dense network will boost global connectivity, diversify international visitor sources, and establish a multi-market ecosystem spanning Southeast Asia, Japan-Korea, Central Asia, and Europe-America.

These routes demonstrate Sanya’s integration into the Belt and Road Initiative and its commitment to the China-Vietnam community with a shared future. Moving forward, Sanya will expand international routes, enhance high-quality tourism offerings, and build a world-class coastal destination blending global standards with local character, contributing "Sanya’s strength" to regional cooperation.
