Combined with the nationwide bilateral mutual visa exemption policy (27 countries) and unilateral visa-free policy (47 countries), Hainan's 59-country visa-free entry policy allows ordinary passport holders from 85 countries to enter Hainan without a visa. To further facilitate personnel exchanges between China and other countries, China has decided to expand visa-free access. Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Ireland, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland; Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay; Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain (last 4 countries effective from June 9).
Purpose of Entry: Business, tourism, visiting relatives/friends, exchange visits, transit.
Duration of Stay in China:
For unilateral visa-free countries except Brunei and 9 others (Note: Specific list not provided in text), visa-free stay is limited to 30 days from November 30, 2024, to December 31, 2025.
For Brunei citizens, the visa-free stay duration was extended to 30 days starting November 30, 2024.

Starting February 9, 2024, citizens from 59 countries can enter Hainan visa-free through all open ports in Hainan Province (Haikou Meilan International Airport, Sanya Phoenix International Airport, Qionghai Boao International Airport, Yangpu Port, Haikou Port, Qinglan Port, Basuo Port, Sanya Port) for purposes such as tourism, business, visiting, family visits, medical treatment, exhibitions, sports competitions (excluding work or study), and stay for up to 30 days.
Among the 59 countries covered by Hainan's visa-free policy, 11 countries are not included in the bilateral mutual visa exemption or unilateral visa-free policies and are only eligible under the Hainan visa-free policy. These are: Canada, Czech Republic, Indonesia, Lithuania, Mexico, Philippines, Russia, Sweden, United States, United Kingdom, and Ukraine.
Among these 11 countries, Hainan has direct flights to/from Russia, the UK, and Indonesia. Citizens from these three countries can fly directly from their home country to enter Hainan visa-free.
