Historical buildings within the ancient city, such as the Civilization Gate, Yazhou Confucian Temple, and City God Temple, showcase the educational, religious, and local governance traditions of the Yazhou region. The Confucian Temple ruins retain traces of ancient imperial examination culture, marking an important node in the history of Hainan’s cultural development. The City God Temple is known for its local stories of worshipping gods and folk activities, showcasing the social landscape of ancient southern Xinjiang.
