Sanya to Moscow, Minsk, Astana and other destinations

Multiple international routes see consecutive increases in flight frequencies

The seventh-freedom route officially begins operating with increased frequencies

(🛎️.)

According to data from Ctrip’s international platform, since March this year, the total number of European visitors to Hainan has increased by over 200% year-on-year. With increased flight frequencies, optimised passenger sources and a steady expansion in inbound tourism, Sanya’s international tourism market is demonstrating a positive development trend characterised by robust supply and demand and a virtuous cycle!

✈️ Frequencies on routes to Russian-speaking regions are being increased in succession

Traditional markets are growing steadily

From 22 March, the Sanya–Moscow route will see an additional two flights per week;
From 30 March, the Sanya–Minsk route will see an additional one flight per week;
From 1 April, the Sanya–Astana route will see an additional one flight per week.

With these three routes to Russian-speaking regions seeing consecutive increases in frequency, capacity has been significantly boosted, providing a more stable and ample transport service for traditional source markets.

Behind this growth lies Sanya’s targeted marketing and in-depth market cultivation. Take the “Sanya–Minsk” route as an example: since its launch, the load factor has remained consistently above 90%, reflecting strong market demand. From 8 to 15 March, Sanya joined forces with over 30 tourism-related enterprises to form the largest European promotional delegation of 2026 to date. The delegation travelled to Belarus and Russia to conduct market outreach, and partnered with leading local travel agency FUN&SUN BELARUS to establish a liaison office. Through localised operations, Sanya’s products are being precisely targeted at the local population, further stimulating travel demand in the Russian-speaking market.

From initial market engagement and the establishment of liaison offices to the increase in flight frequencies, Sanya has charted a pragmatic course of ‘market-led, route-driven’ development, driving steady growth in traditional source markets.

🌍 European Market

Enhanced Seventh Freedom Rights: Expanded Reach

The increase in flights on the Sanya–Prague route to twice weekly signifies that the benefits of the seventh freedom of the air policy are being realised at an accelerated pace.

In early March this year, a Hainan tourism delegation travelled to Germany and the Czech Republic to promote the region. They established overseas promotion liaison offices in those countries and engaged in in-depth discussions with airlines and travel agencies, taking their promotional efforts directly to the front line of the market. Currently, the seat occupancy rate on this route is approaching 70%, and the operational outlook remains positive. In the future, as capacity increases, Sanya’s reach into the Central and Eastern European market will be further enhanced, and passenger numbers from neighbouring countries such as Germany, Hungary and Poland are expected to grow rapidly.

📢 With the route as a gateway

Opening up to the world

Moving forward, we will continue to use international routes as a driving force, increasing the frequency of existing routes and expanding to new destinations, whilst deepening our exploration of the seventh freedom of the air in particular. At the same time, by leveraging our network of overseas promotion and liaison offices, we will build a more diverse and balanced structure of international visitor sources to promote the high-quality development of the inbound tourism market. The denser the network of routes, the closer the world becomes. Sanya is now welcoming visitors from around the globe with an even more open attitude.
