On April 6, 2026, Uzbekistan Airways will officially launch a direct flight route between Sanya and Tashkent. This marks another significant breakthrough in connectivity between Sanya and Central Asia, as well as a landmark achievement in the accelerated internationalization of the Hainan Free Trade Port. As Uzbekistan’s national flag carrier, Uzbekistan Airways is the country’s largest airline and a highly influential operator in Central Asia, renowned internationally for its safety, efficiency, and high-quality service.

To date, Sanya has successfully attracted multiple national flag carriers, including Aeroflot, Belair, Air Astana, and Lao Airlines, which operate international routes from Sanya to Moscow, Minsk, Astana, Almaty, and Vientiane, respectively.

Today, a passenger aircraft from Uzbekistan Airways touched down smoothly at Sanya Phoenix International Airport, marking the official launch of the “Sanya–Tashkent” international passenger route. The launch of this route will further enhance travel convenience for tourists between China and Uzbekistan as well as neighboring regions. It will inject new momentum into Sanya’s efforts to attract high-end tourists from Central Asia and expand its international tourism cooperation, while also providing robust aviation support for deepening exchanges and cooperation in trade, culture, tourism, and other fields between the Hainan Free Trade Port and countries along the “Belt and Road” initiative.

It is reported that as a representative of a nation’s aviation image and strength, a flag carrier’s route network serves as a key indicator of a region’s international appeal, openness, and the level of its aviation hub. The fact that flag carriers from multiple countries have independently chosen Sanya as a major aviation hub in southern China fully demonstrates Sanya’s core competitiveness in the international tourism market, Free Trade Port policies, geographical location and transportation, and business environment. This serves as strong evidence of Sanya’s international appeal and comprehensive development capabilities.

The newly launched “Sanya–Tashkent” route is scheduled to operate every Tuesday and Friday. Flight HY509 from Tashkent to Sanya departs at 23:00 Beijing Time and arrives in Sanya at 05:50; flight HY510 from Sanya to Tashkent departs Sanya at 07:20 and arrives in Tashkent at 14:00. (All flight times listed above are Beijing Time. Please refer to actual schedules in case of adjustments or changes.)
