Where Fiery Combat Meets Island Trends: Hainan Free Trade Port Creates a Cross-Border Sports and Culture Feast

This summer, an international combat sports extravaganza defined by power and speed is coming to Sanya. From August 7–9, the "2026 Sanya Combat Sports Open and Ground Warrior Elite Invitational" will launch in grand style at the Sanya Bay Mangrove Tree Resort World International Convention Center.

As a high-profile cross-border sports and cultural gala for the Hainan Free Trade Port, the event brings together outstanding fighters from home and abroad, blending fiery ring battles with coastal city energy to create a new spectacle combining competitive sports, trend culture, and cultural tourism.

An International Combat Appointment

The event is hosted by Sanya Juhai Qibing Culture & Sports Co., Ltd., supported by the Hainan International Cultural Exchange Center, China Railway City Operation Management Co., Ltd., Sanya Bay Mangrove Tree Hotel, and others, under the joint guidance of three provincial martial arts bodies: the Hainan Wushu Association, Hainan Kickboxing Association, and Hainan Boxing Association.

As part of the 4th PCRC Supercar Culture & Tourism Carnival, the event breaks from traditional formats, merging professional combat sports with supercar trend culture for a powerful, youthful cross-border experience.

Event Highlights

This year's event has been fully upgraded, drawing nearly a thousand athletes from 29 countries and regions. Competition spans kickboxing, professional Muay Thai, and MMA, with multiple championship bouts and gold-belt showdowns.

Top domestic athletes — Liu Junchao, Zhou Jie, Yi Yuxiang, Hong Chengzhi, Ying Yue, Chen Zihao, and others — will face international pros head-to-head for glory.

Every punch is a clash of speed and power; every bout, a contest of will and belief. It's not just a competition — it's a stage for young fighters to show themselves to the world.
